Mobile Meals Volunteer Program

The primary purpose of Mobile Meals is to provide well-balanced meals for shut-ins. The secondary purpose is to provide daily contact with the person and check on their well-being. To relatives who live away from their loved ones, this is a treasured service. Volunteers run the entire program. The general coordinator of the program receives request for meal delivery from family members, ministers, neighbors, social workers, etc. If the request is approved, the name is relayed to the appropriate route coordinator who gives the name, address and any specific delivery instructions to that day's driver. Drivers then pick up the meals at the designated location and deliver them accordingly. This ministry was established in 1975 and is a joint effort between First Presbyterian and First Baptist churches, as well as Harpeth Presbyterian, Calvary Methodist, Hillsboro Presbyterian, Harpeth Hills Baptist, Christ Presbyterian, and Woodmont Christian Churches. If you are interested in volunteering 1 to 2 hours, one day a month, please call Judy Davis at 615.297.3049.
